1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using DocBook (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and DocBook.
2. Description of Service
DocBook is a technology platform that connects patients with independent healthcare professionals for appointment booking and remote consultations. DocBook is not a medical provider, hospital, clinic, or pharmacy. Doctors and healthcare professionals listed on DocBook are independent practitioners. DocBook does not employ them, supervise their medical decisions, or bear responsibility for the quality of medical care they provide.
3. Eligibility & Account Responsibilities
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service independently. Users between 13 and 18 may use the Service with parental consent. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information.
4. Bookings, Payments & Fees
Consultation fees are set independently by each doctor or clinic and are displayed clearly before you confirm a booking. Payments are processed by Razorpay and PayU. By making a payment, you agree to their respective terms of service. DocBook does not charge patients a booking fee. Doctor subscription fees are governed by separate subscription agreements.
5. Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation and refund terms are described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Impersonate any person or healthcare provider.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent booking information.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service.
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm any other user.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or copy any part of the Service without written consent.
7. Disclaimers
DocBook does not provide medical advice. Content on the platform (including AI health summaries) is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional with questions about your health. Doctors on DocBook are independent practitioners; DocBook does not endorse or guarantee their services.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DocBook shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or any medical services obtained through the platform. DocBook’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you to DocBook in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Srinagar, India.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.
